To set an example for my composition students, I do like to point them to pieces I composed, but also talk to them about the story, what worked and what didn't and why things were orchestrated the way they were.

Tells the story of my nephew Kai as he draws a simple sketch and lets his imagination run wild... sailing across the sea, fighting pirates slaying a dragon and ultimately, saving the girl
THE NORWOOD AFFAIR
A suite from a film school originally written for 13 pieces, expanded to full orchestra.
The opening of a concert mixing variations on "Chopsticks" with themes from various pieces performed throughout the evening... with a not so grand entrance.
These recordings were with the Dream Orchestra in 2013. The Los Angeles Inception Orchestra will make original music from composers of all ethnicities and backgrounds a priority in their concert programming. The orchestra will be roughly this size and feature many of the same musicians.
