COMPOSITION

To set an example for my composition students, I do like to point them to pieces I composed, but also talk to them about the story, what worked and what didn't and why things were orchestrated the way they were.

A CONCERTO IN CRAYON

Tells the story of my nephew Kai as he draws a simple sketch and lets his imagination run wild... sailing across the sea, fighting pirates slaying a dragon and ultimately, saving the girl

PICTURES AT AN EXHIBITION

This arrangement was done for the Los Angeles Inception Orchestra concert September 28, 2019 for the group of performing mentors. It combines the piano score with violin, cello, clarinet, percussion, tympani, harp, electric cello and acoustic guitar.

PLEASE NOTE

This mock-up was generated with Note Performer software.

NORWOOD

This is a film score written (by hand) for 13 musicians done when I was 19. It amounts to under 15 minutes of music, but it is a good inspiration for our Inception Orchestra composers.

THE NORWOOD AFFAIR

In 2013, I had the opportunity to re-arrange Norwood for full orchestra.

COLD OPEN

The opening of a concert mixing variations on "Chopsticks" with themes from various pieces performed throughout the evening...  with a not so grand entrance.

PLEASE NOTE

These recordings were with the Dream Orchestra in 2013.  Daniel Suk, Conductor
